Cheesy Potato Puffs vegetarian recipe

These cheesy potato puffs are such a crowd-pleaser, perfect for a cozy movie night or a fun party appetizer. They're crispy outside, fluffy inside, and packed with savory cheese.

Ingredients

  • 700 grams potatoes
  • 60 grams butter
  • 0.25 cup milk
  • 0.75 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley

Instructions

  1. Wash 700 grams of potatoes thoroughly. Place them in a large pot, cover with cold water, and add 0.25 teaspoon salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until fork-tender. Drain well.
  2. Once cooled enough to handle, peel the boiled potatoes. Mash them finely in a large bowl until no lumps remain.
  3. Add 60 grams butter, 0.25 cup milk, 0.5 teaspoon salt, 0.25 teaspoon black pepper, and 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder to the mashed potatoes. Mix everything together until smooth and creamy.
  4. Stir in 0.5 cup grated cheddar cheese, 0.25 cup all-purpose flour, and 0.25 teaspoon baking powder into the potato mixture. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  5. Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F). Lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
  6. Using a spoon or a small ice cream scoop, drop rounded spoonfuls of the potato mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each puff.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the potato puffs are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  8. Carefully remove the potato puffs from the oven. Transfer them to a serving platter and garnish with 2 tablespoons fresh parsley. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
